Botox,Dysport & Jeuveau: slow the signs of aging

Botox, Dysport & Jeuveau are well-known injectable neuromodulators all containing botulinum toxin type A as their active compound. They have grown in popularity due to their ability to treat and slow down wrinkle formation. Wrinkles that start as fine lines eventually develop into deep lines (think: frown lines and furrowed brows). Temporarily relaxing these muscles creates a softer appearance. It works by blocking nerve signals to the muscles so the injected muscle is unable to contract.

Botox, Dysport & Jeuveau injections are the cornerstone treatment to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. At Fayced NYC we tailor toxin injections to allow for patients to still display expressions while reducing the ability of the muscles to move enough to cause wrinkles.

Beyond its cosmetic uses, other benefits of Botox, Dysport & Jeuveau injections include: hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating), chronic migraines/headaches, and TMJ relief.

What to Expect during your Botox, Dysport & Jeuveau treatment

To begin the procedure, we will sterilize the area/areas of concern using an alcohol prep pad. Most people experience minimal to no discomfort during the injection process! After the procedure is performed, some patients may notice little red bumps where the injection was administered. These should subside in about 20 minutes. It’s important to understand that the effect of the injection will not happen instantly. Some people may experience headaches within the first day or two. This is common so no need to worry! It’s simply the muscles beginning to relax.

Key Elements of the Procedure

  • Painless in-office procedure
  • Zero downtime
  • Lasts 3-4 months
  • Slowly turns on/slowly turns off (no sharp change in appearance)

When Should I Start my Botox, Dysport or Jeuveau Treatment?

The best time to start treatment is when you start to notice wrinkles beginning to develop. Depending on our genetics, sun exposure, degree of animation, etc., we all develop wrinkle formations at different times.

Basic Pre- and Post-Care Instructions

It is preferred that patients do not come to their appointment with make-up on.

To avoid bruising, a week before your appointment we recommend you stop taking: Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Excedrin, Motrin, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, flax oil, cod liver oil, fish oil, vitamin A, vitamin E and other essential fatty acids. Avoid drinking alcohol a few days prior to your treatment. Do not stop prescriptions from your doctor. When used as directed, Arnica may help prevent bruising and swelling, and is highly recommended.

What areas can be treated with Botox, Dysport & Jeuveau?

The most common facial areas to treat with toxin are the forehead, glabella and crow’s feet. You may be a great candidate for toxin treatment if you’re looking to treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), slimming of the jawline (masseter muscle), migraines/headaches, TMJ or jaw clenching/grinding, lip-lift, bunnies, gummy smile, and platysmal bands (neck lines).

Are Botox, Dysport & Jeuveau Safe?

Yes! Botox, Dysport and Jeuveau are all FDA-approved.

What does the treatment feel like?

The treatment takes around 30 minutes and is performed in our office on the Upper East Side. The minimally invasive procedure is not considered painful and therefore no topical numbing is applied pre-injection. You may experience slight discomfort during the treatment but once the treatment is complete there is no pain and no downtime!

How soon will I see my results?

It typically takes about 7-10 days to see the effects kick in. In some cases, depending on the patient, it may take up to two weeks to see the final results.

When can I come in for a touch-up?

We ask that you give it at least 14 days before coming in for a toxin touch up to ensure the Botox has fully settled.

How long will it last?

The results typically last around 3-4 months from the date of injection. Over time, the body will begin to metabolize the toxin leading to a moderate return of muscle movement where the treatment occurred.

How soon can I return to the gym after receiving my treatment?

Avoid all physical activities for the first 24 hours post receiving your toxin treatment.

What to expect after receiving Toxin?

A toxin treatment has little to no downtime. Avoid rubbing, massaging, or applying any pressure to the treated area. Please avoid lying down or bending over for 4 hours post receiving treatment.

Can I receive Toxin while pregnant or breastfeeding?

You may NOT receive treatment while pregnant or breastfeeding!
